Sherrie Gearheart has been actively challenging conventional beauty standards and stigmas since 2008. She initiated this mission with her first sold-out fashion show for Tiara Magazine, a publication that celebrates all aspects of pageantry, by featuring models inclusive of diverse sizes, heights, ages, and ethnicities.
To date, Gearheart's production portfolio includes the largest Kentucky Derby fashion shows. Her events in Chicago have sold out for several consecutive years, and she continues to enjoy producing events in locations such as Indianapolis, during New York Fashion Week, in Paris, Ireland, and beyond.
Sherrie Gearheart carved her own path in the high-fashion world, defying the industry's strict height standards (she stands at 5'6") to walk in prestigious events like Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week (2015) and several seasons of Paris Fashion Week, LA fashion week, all levels of NY fashion week, and modeled abroad in China and Philippines for major beauty campaigns. She's modeled for international luxury brands, including House of Byfield, Jow Fashion, and JOS, and even completed a World Supermodel Tour in China. Gearheart’s presence in Paris extended beyond the runway, as she also hosted live red carpet interviews for LUXE TV, a global television brand and has been repeatedly hired as a red carpet host for several brands during NY fashion week.
Beyond modeling, she achieved significant recognition in pageantry and as a humanitarian, culminating in the title of Miss United Nations 2015 among her numerous national, state, and local level titles. Gearheart has 20 years experience in the industry and received the 2013 Miss America Community Service award (from the nationally televised pageant) for her humanitarian work overseas, the Minnie Riperton Humanitarian of the Year 2015 award for her suicide prevention work across Chicago and nationally, and the 2019 Lifetime Achievement award from the Fashion World Grammys for our sold out productions, to name a few. Previously Gearheart utilized her public platform to spearhead a major grassroots initiative focused on suicide prevention where she educated people on the signs of depression and suicide intervention across eight countries and the USA. She completed countless press conferences and media campaigns shedding light on how to help the most vulnerable.
Now Gearheart channels her extensive experience into Model Icon a venture designed to cultivate aspiring and established models through her training, knowledge, expertise, and compassion. Model Icon aims to cultivate aspiring up and coming models and to help established models harness their power and full potential so they can rise to the next level through the Model Icon shows, magazines, media connections, and high-end coaching.
